Xavier Charvet

Redefining Modern Architecture with Timeless Elegance

Xavier Charvet is a French architect renowned for his visionary approach to modern architecture. His projects, celebrated across Europe and beyond, seamlessly combine contemporary innovation with timeless sophistication, making him a leading figure in bespoke architectural design. Awarded Architecture & Design Studio of the Year at the Berlin Prestige Awards in 2020, Xavier has built a distinguished reputation for creating extraordinary architectural spaces that marry functionality with elegance.

Xavier’s architectural approach is multidisciplinary. His work often involves the creative use of raw materials and refined lines, producing spaces that embody simplicity, beauty, and serenity. His signature style integrates architectural design with bespoke furniture, creating cohesive environments where every element serves the larger vision.

From a young age, Xavier was captivated by architecture, reconstructing the plans of his friends' homes with a pencil in hand. This innate ability to reimagine spaces has driven his career, leading him to work on prestigious projects worldwide, from Paris to Berlin, London, Los Angeles, and Monaco. His architectural creations draw inspiration from great mentors like John Lautner, Frank Lloyd Wright, Eileen Gray, and Richard Meier, yet his designs stand out for their unique blend of modern sophistication and historical appreciation.

Xavier’s deep admiration for the Case Study Houses has greatly influenced his approach to residential design, emphasizing simplicity, openness, and integration with the environment. Before focusing on residential homes and boutique hotels, Xavier worked on large-scale urban projects, including the directing scheme for the renovation of the Gare du Nord in Paris—a formative experience that deepened his understanding of public spaces and the intricate relationship between architecture and mobility.

Xavier’s high-end Parisian heritage continues to influence his work, but he has also embraced the dynamic energy of Berlin, where he moved his studio in 2012. His designs for the German capital infuse a fresh perspective on bespoke interiors, drawing from both historical and contemporary influences to create groundbreaking spaces.

In his latest project, a stunning private residence in the South of France, Xavier’s architectural mastery was honored by being featured in AD China, one of the leading publications for design and architecture in Asia. This recognition reflects his international acclaim and the growing influence of his work across the globe.

Xavier Charvet’s architectural approach is often compared to that of Robert Mallet-Stevens, known for designing buildings as cohesive works of art, from the structure to the interior details. Xavier’s designs consistently surprise with their simplicity and elegance, where every detail—from the choice of materials to the design of furniture—contributes to the larger vision of the space.

Beyond his architectural practice, Xavier also teaches at the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of architects.

With a portfolio of A-list clients from the real estate industry and private clients across Europe, Xavier Charvet continues to set new standards in the world of bespoke architecture, proving that simplicity, sophistication, and individuality can unite to create extraordinary, functional spaces.

Coline Savoye, a French architect and painter, is a leading force in residential architecture, renowned for her exceptional ability to manage large-scale projects and collaborate seamlessly with developers. Whether designing bespoke homes or spearheading the construction of buildings with over 100 apartments, Coline’s work reflects a rare combination of artistic vision and practical expertise.

Since 2014, Coline has been an integral part of Studio Charvet, where her experience in collective housing and on-site project management complements Xavier Charvet's innovative designs. Together, they create spaces that balance functionality and elegance.

Coline's love for construction runs deep—so much so that the smell of fresh concrete is her favorite. Passing by construction sites, she often stops to take in the scent, a vivid reminder of her first project: the renovation of Crédit Foncier on Place Vendôme in Paris. Working with Anthony Béchu and Alain Charles Perrot, she gained her initial exposure to luxury design and historical renovation, a formative experience that shaped her passion for the craft.

With her diploma in hand, Coline specialized in collective housing, partnering with top-tier developers such as BNP Paribas, Vinci, and Nexity, as well as social housing giants like Paris Habitat, Rhône-Saône Habitat, and Saint-Denis Habitat. She collaborated with renowned firms such as Brenac & Gonzalez and Reichen & Robert, contributing to the construction of numerous buildings across France. Her hands-on approach to managing construction sites has earned her a reputation as a warrior of the construction field, balancing the demands of developers, contractors, and ambitious architectural visions.

Coline's work is deeply influenced by Lina Bo Bardi, Louis Kahn, and Alvar Aalto, whose mastery of raw materials resonates in her own designs. She celebrates the strength and authenticity of materials like concrete, wood, and steel, weaving them into her projects with boldness and finesse. Her approach combines aesthetic sophistication with practical solutions, making her a trusted partner for developers and an advocate for durable, timeless architecture.

Whether leading meetings with developers, inspecting construction sites, or imagining the transformation of neglected spaces, Coline Savoye embodies resilience and creativity. Her unwavering dedication to quality and her love for the raw elements of construction make her a driving force behind Studio Charvet's enduring success.
